National Maps 1996
This page contains probabilistic seismic hazard maps for the conterminous 48 States. Twelve maps are presented: peak ground acceleration (pga), 5-Hz spectral acceleration, 3-Hz spectral acceleration, and 1-Hz spectral acceleration (5% damping), each for 10%-, 5%-, and 2%-in-fifty-years probability of exceedance.
Printed color versions of the NATIONAL (Open-File Report 97-131) maps are now available. The maps are approximately 3' in size. See USGS Products Ordering Information for information on ordering.

PostScript and PDF versions of the maps are also available for downloading in the Anonymous FTP area (See GENERAL:Anonymous FTP.) There are two sizes of postscript files for the National maps: PSlt = letter size, PSlg = ledger size.
